According to Opel's own admission, the German manufacturer is in the process of having the best first quarter of the last 10 years. This success would be due to the aggressive scrappage policy instigated in Germany (2500 euros in aid for sending a 9-year-old car to the scrapyard)
Indeed, according to Michael Klaus, Opel's sales and marketing director, the Russellsheim firm should reach 120 orders at the end of its first quarter of 000. Around 2009/2 of these sales are to be attributed to the new Insignia sedan, while less than 3/1 of orders take place in Germany. These results include the excellent start of the Insignia in the United Kingdom (4 sold in February) where the model is sold under the Vauxhall brand.
