The members of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG and the managers of Porsche
Automobil Holding SE have held intense discussions over the past few weeks on
deepening cooperation between the two companies. The proposals which are
emerging from these discussions, and in particular the measures affecting capital, were examined
this Wednesday by the family shareholders of Porsche Automobil Holding SE, Stuttgart, who
are in favor of the creation of an integrated automobile group. In the structure
definitively, ten brands should coexist within an integrated society in which
the independence of each brand, and in particular that of Porsche, will be ensured.
On this basis, Volkswagen and Porsche intend to intensify their discussions within a
joint working group which involves the regional state (Land) of Lower Saxony, lead
shareholder of VW, and representatives of the employees of the two companies. The objective is to
define, over the next four weeks, an appropriate decision basis for the
future structure of the Group common to the two companies.
