The fifth round of the Grand-Am has just ended on the Belle-Isle circuit, in Detroit. Starting from pole position, the Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP of Max Angelelli and Jordan Taylor confirmed the race by taking the victory. The two men also took advantage of this to move into the lead of the championship.

The podium is completed by the Corvette DP Action Express Racing of Joao Barbosa-Christian Fittipaldi and the Riley-Ford Starworks Motorsport of Alexander Popow-Ryan Dalziel. On the French side, Stéphane Sarrazin did not see the finish, his teammate Pedro Lamy hitting the wall with the Corvette DB of 8 Star Motorsports which was then in the leading fifth 30 minutes from the goal. Note the abandonment in the first minutes of the Riley-BMW of multiple champions Rojas and Pruett following contact with the Riley-Ford of Pew-Valiente.
