The driver of the No. 70 Mazda completed a lap of the Circuit of the Americas in 1'58''033, improving by a tenth the performance of Dane Cameron in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Corvette DP achieved the day before.
Ricky Taylor was the closest to the Japanese prototype at the wheel of the #10 for Wayne Taylor Racing. Ozz Negri Jr completes the top three in the Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2.
Toni Vilander improved the GTLM reference time with a time of 2'03''380 on the Ferrari 488 n°62 of the Risi Competizione, preceding the Ford GT of Dirk Müller and Richard Westbrook by a few hundredths.
