The ACO is considering a regulation truly geared towards ecology from 2014. A quantity of energy (energy spent / kilometers traveled) could be defined according to each car. New engines adapted to new technologies could be more easily accepted. Cars should be smaller and lighter and consume less fuel (with a target of 1500 liters of gasoline for 5000 kilometers traveled). The tires should finally have a longer lifespan.
