Faced with the fire of criticism following the 12 Hours of Sebring, notably concerning the length of the interruptions under yellow flag, the officials of theIMSA will make adjustments to sports regulations.

– At events where only one prototype category is entered in the race, the pits will be open for that class when the peloton is regrouped and including while the GT cars are performing Pass-Around (for the first car behind Safety- Because and who has the leader of her class behind her).
– The “Lap-Down Wave-By” procedure, which provides an opportunity for cars a lap or more behind to regain a lap, while the leaders enter the pits, will be more limited in its application. This procedure will not be applied during races of less than two hours and 30 minutes. For races between two and a half to six hours, this procedure will only be used once in a 90 minute period and 60 minutes after the start of a race. Lap-Down Wave-By will be prohibited in the last 30 minutes of the race.
– Efforts will also be made during interruptions for debris and/or removal of a car in difficulty. Pass-Around will be permitted, but the pits will be closed until the race is restarted.
