At the end of Grand Touring qualifying, it was the BMW of Jorg Müller-Augusto Farfus which took pole position in GTE Pro. At the wheel, the first-named completed a lap of the Chinese circuit of Zhuhai in 1:34:508. He is also the only one to have managed to beat the fastest GTC, the Audi R8 LMS of Edoardo Mortara. The leading trio of GTE Pros is completed by the Ferrari 458 Italia AF Corse from Fisichella-Bruni and the second BMW entrusted to Andy Priaulx and Uwe Alzen. In 1:35:229, Tim Mullen set the best GTE Am time at the wheel of the CRS Racing Ferrari 430.
