Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) signs the best time of the first practice session by completing the lap of the Buddh International circuit in 1:26:836. Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber (Red Bull) failed by 5 tenths while Jenson Button sandwiched the Red Bull by finishing 1??5 behind his compatriot.
The dust is still present on the Indian track but the times achieved are still reassuring. The drivers still had difficulty getting their bearings on a track where the grip varied depending on the sector.
