Midway through the first test session at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it was Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) who established the provisional reference with a time of 1'43"895 achieved on the Yas Marina circuit. The German is ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton by a tenth ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari), Nico Hulkenberg (Force India) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull).
Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), Felipe Nasr (Sauber) and Jolyon Palmer (Lotus) have not yet set a time in this session. The Briton who replaces Romain Grosjean in this test session suffered from a hydraulic leak.
