Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) was the first eliminated from Q1 at the Brazilian GP, failing 3 hundredths behind Sergio Pérez (Racing Point). Lance stroll (Racing Point) followed in 17th place ahead of Williams of George Russell and Robert Kubica, the Pole being condemned to the back of the grid following a change of chassis following his accident in testing.
Carl's Sainz Jr. (McLaren) was unable to set any time. After suffering from power losses, his team decided not to send him back to the track.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was the fastest with a lap completed in 1'08''242, ahead by more than 2 tenths Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Alexander albon (Redbull). Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) completed the Top 5 ahead Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes). Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) finished 9th and Romain Grosjean (Haas) 13th.
