Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) is the first eliminated from Q2 of the German GP. The Italian failed by a hundredth of a second from Sergio Pérez (Racing Point). It precedes Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Lance stroll (RacingPoint).
The French are qualified for Q3. Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) took the 3rd time in front Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and his teammate Max Verstappen which suffered from turbo response time issues. Romain Grosjean (Haas) set the 9th time. It is Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) who set the benchmark time on medium tires with a lap completed in 1'12''1 with 2 tenths ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).
