While Stoffel vandoorne (McLaren) had the best time of the day since the first minutes of the session, Nico Hulkenberg (Renault) took first place after a two and a half hour session in Barcelona (Spain). The German is ahead of the Belgian by 171 thousandths, both having driven on hyper soft tires (pink sidewalls), the softest compound offered by Pirelli.
Third, Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) is rejected at exactly one second, but it evolves on soft tires.
