The words moved from Sebastian Vettel towards Charlie Whiting, racing director of the FIA, had caused a stir after the finish of the Mexican Grand Prix. The German pilot apologized to the main person concerned, invited to the press conference this Thursday in Brazil to return to the different episodes of the Mexican event, between the penalties of Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, or even the off-trajectory passage of Lewis Hamilton at the beginning.

Regarding the insults uttered against him, Charlie Whiting assured that the incident was behind him. “This is not the first time this kind of language has been used, underlines the latter. This was done to me, it's unfortunate, but I think there were some extenuating circumstances that led to Sebastian's frustration. The fact that he came to see me after the race was enough and I'm ready to forget and move on. Things happen in the intensity of the moment. »

Sebastian Vettel also reiterated his apologies immediately. “Of course I regret what I said. It was obvious to go see Charlie afterwards. I wrote a letter later and he accepted the apology and I'm happy to move forward. »
