Charlie Whiting will be present at a press conference

The last meeting of the World Championship of F1 had been marked by the episode at the end of the race insulting statements from Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) towards Charlie Whiting, FIA racing director, after his on-track confrontation with Max Verstappen (Red Bull), the latter having cut a turn and kept his position in front of the German driver, furious at not seeing the race direction forcing the Dutchman to give up his place.

Verstappen was finally sanctioned just after the checkered flag, losing his podium to Hag ... who was penalized later in the evening, for having shifted when braking against the second Red Bull RB12 of Daniel Ricciardo.

The German driver, who apologized in person after the finish, and via a letter sent to Whiting as well as to Jean Todt, president of the FIA, was ultimately not sanctioned by the governing bodies of the international federation.

Present at the press conference, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen will also be joined by Charlie Whiting himself, who will come in the last part of the press conference usually devoted to the drivers.

As the FIA press release mentions, “FIA Race Director Charlie Whiting will take part in the final part of the drivers' press conference on Thursday, alongside the nominated drivers, to discuss the 1 Mexican F2016 Grand Prix. On this occasion he will be in attendance to address this subject only. »
