Heikki Kovalainen almost missed the first free practice sessions for the European Grand Prix because of the air traffic controllers' strike! Indeed, due to the strike in French transport concerning pensions, the Lotus Racing driver almost remained on the floor. Thursday afternoon, the Finnish driver had to embark on a 1200 km road trip, from Geneva to Valencia. He arrived early in the morning on the shores of the Mediterranean, before diving into bed to try to recover before the start of the first free practice session. In any case, with a light sleep and a lack of preparation before his first laps of the wheel, Heikki Kovalainen risks having a strange day in Valencia.
