Charlie Whiting, the FIA race director, issued a memo to teams and drivers stating that exceeding track limits would be further policed at this year's Canadian GP.

The FIA will check in particular that no driver takes advantage of turns n°9 and n°10, where the gravel run-off zone has been replaced by asphalt.

“Each driver who fails to negotiate turn number 9 on the track and who passes completely to the left of the orange curb in the middle of the turn must remain on the left until the complete end of the curb at the exit of the turn and will only be able to re-enter the track at the end of the asphalt clearance zone", specifies the note.
