After a violent crash at the start, where the driver encountered the rail at 191km/h, the car American is on fire. Grosjean only came out 28 seconds later, miraculously. The VF-20 ends up split in two, but the survival cell from which the Frenchman escapes remains intact, as does the halo. A way of recalling the dangerousness of motorsport, but also the progress in terms of safety made by the premier category in recent years.
On the occasion of this exhibition, a special room entitled “ Survival » will have the chassis of the VF-20 as the main object, accompanied by previously unseen videos of the crash. “ The survival cell is there in the event of a significant impact. I was intact in this shell. The chassis is still in one piece, the halo is there, it is intact except for damage and burns. This is what saved my life ", says Grosjean in an interview carried out specially for the event, where he discusses his perception of the accident.
