The Lotus Racing press release indicating the formalization of the partnership with Renault as an engine manufacturer in 2011 has a rather strange element. The Malaysian team does not mention the name “Lotus” at any time, as if the author of the text was intentionally trying not to mention his team.
The dispute between Lotus Racing and the Proton group would clearly have something to do with it. If the conflict does not find a favorable outcome, Tony Fernandes' team could be forced to take the name "1 Malaysia Racing".
