Lawson promoted to Red Bull reserve driver in place of Vips

Jüri Vips fired by Red Bull, Liam Lawson was offered the position of reserve driver for the Austrian team.

Lawson promoted to Red Bull reserve driver in place of Vips

After terminating Jüri Vips' contract, consequence of comments made during a Twitch live, Red Bull decided to promote Liam Lawson. A member of the Red Bull Junior Team, the New Zealander was promoted to reserve driver for the Austrian team F1 instead of Estonian.

Currently 10e en F2 with 1 victory in 4 podiums, Liam Lawson was until now reserve driver Alpha Tauri. Although he has been promoted to the ranks of the parent team, the Kiwi also retains his role within the Italian team.

Like Jüri Vips in Barcelona in May, Liam Lawson is expected to take part in a free practice session at the wheel of the Red Bull RB18 on the sidelines of an F1 Grand Prix this season.
