A somewhat unreal start to the qualifying session in Brazil, since just after the green flag, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), then just got into action, made a mistake at turn 6 and hit the protective barriers.
La car of the world champion is damaged on the entire left side, and Hamilton must already give up. The red flag was displayed to allow the evacuation of W08 n°44.
