Mark Webber (Red Bull), fourth in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix, could perhaps have done better if he had not encountered mechanical problems in the morning. Indeed, the Australian had to end his last free practice session due to a problem in the air box.

Our latest information reveals that a fire broke out in the air box, damaging certain parts which could not be replaced before qualifying. Thus, the Milton Keynes team advised Mark Webber to be careful, giving him some instructions on how to make the best use of his car in these conditions. This could have deprived the Australian of a few precious hundredths of a second, even if his fourth place in the final allowed him to sign a good result.

The damaged parts, which can be replaced without penalty, will therefore be changed in the afternoon on the No. 6 RB6, so that Mark Webber can start the Italian Grand Prix with the same chances as his rivals.
