Pirelli Motorsport has revealed the choice of teams and drivers for tires for the next Canadian Grand Prix (June 10). The Italian manufacturer had chosen super-soft, ultra-soft and hyper-soft tires, the same choice as in Monaco last weekend, and the leading teams made different strategic choices.
Si Mercedes retained three sets of super-softs, plus five sets of ultra and hyper-softs, Ferrari et Red Bull preferred to focus on the hyper-soft with eight sets of the softest tires for the duos Hag – Räikkönen and Ricciardo - Verstappen.
Mercedes remains the team to have chosen the fewest hyper-soft tires, all the other teams having retained between seven and eight sets of tires flanked by pink edging. World champions will trust the ultra-soft. Conversely, Williams selected the most super-soft rubbers, Stroll having chosen five games from this compound, against four from his teammate Sirotkin.
