During the Italian Grand Prix, the momentary presence of an ambulance in the pit lane was reported to teams wishing to carry out their tire changes. The medical car actually intervened to come to the care of a mechanic from the HRT team, undoubtedly knocked down by Sakon Yamamoto. The mechanic was transported for further examinations but was not believed to suffer serious injuries.
