Victims of abandonment due to engine problem in Bahrain, Nico Hulkenberg et Daniel Ricciardo are using a new MGU-K on the back of their RS19 for the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend.
This version of the electric motor has been updated to make it more robust. Forced to abandon in Australia after his MGU-K broke Renault on his McLaren, Carlos Sainz was able to debut the new model in Bahrain. His teammate's MCL34 Lando Norris is also equipped with it in Shanghai.
Hülkenberg also receives a new internal combustion engine, turbocharger, and MGU-H. Finally, the pilots Ferrari et Haas use a second electronic control.
