Karun Chandhok (HRT) will be penalized with a five-place penalty on the starting grid for the Chinese Grand Prix. The Indian driver benefited from a gearbox change on his car and will therefore fall five places at the end of qualifying. However, if, as in the third free practice session, Karun Chandhok is last, this sanction will have no effect.
