Penalties for Ocon and Tsunoda on the grid in Austin

Alpine has decided to use a new engine for Esteban Ocon, who will start from the pit lane. Yuki Tsunoda will start last after a gearbox change.

Last minute changes in Austin. After Pérez, Alonso, Leclerc and Zhou, it's the turn ofEsteban Ocon et Yuki tsunoda to be penalized on the starting grid for the United States Grand Prix in Austin.

For the Frenchman, these are new components that have been installed on its power unit, with a 6th internal combustion engine (ICE), a 4th electrical storage element (ES) and a 4th electronic control unit (CE) which were put into the A522. These changes having been made without the approval of the FIA, the Norman, qualified 17th, will have to start from the stands.

As for Yuki Tsunoda, a start at the back of the grid awaits the Japanese. Alpha Tauri decided to install a new gearbox, the 4th of the season, in the car of pilot n°22. With a penalty of 5 places, Tsunoda falls from 15th to 19th place on the grid, since Ocon will start from the pits.
