There will not be two Ferrari in Q3 at Imola. Only 11th on the timesheet, Carlos Sainz took the door. The Spaniard failed 61 thousandths from the 10th and last qualifying place.
Q2 also difficult for Fernando Alonso. The pilot Alpine only set the 15th time in Q2 behind the Williams de Nicholas latifi ! It is the first time he has been beaten by a teammate in qualifying since the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix.
George Russell (Williams) and Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) are the others eliminated.
Up front, the best time in Q2 was recorded by Sergio Pérez (Red Bull). Lando Norris (McLaren) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) completed the Top 3.
