Died Sunday November 28 at the age of 79, Sir Frank Williams will be celebrated by the entire paddock of Formula 1 on the sidelines of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah.
Shortly after the pilots' parade, Sunday December 5, a minute of silence will be observed, followed by a round of applause. In this moment of contemplation, the podium and the starting grid will broadcast images of the founder of the team with 114 victories and 16 world titles in F1.
In addition, a Williams FW07, taken to the paddock to recall the presence of Saudi sponsors from the turn of the 1980s in the Grove-based team, will perform a demonstration lap. On Thursday, commentators and ex-drivers Damon Hill and Martin Brundle completed a few laps.
Someone just left this FW07 unattended. Might as well drive it I suppose. #f1 pic.twitter.com/CNxK2H85Ho
