Anxious to facilitate overtaking opportunities by Formula 1, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has decided to implement a third DRS zone at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit in preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal (June 8-10). It will be located between turn 7 and 8 (see map below).
The other two zones keep their usual place, i.e. on the straight upstream of the last chicane and the start-finish straight.
