Vettel on pole for the Chinese GP

Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) wins his second consecutive pole by winning qualifying for the Chinese GP. The Championship leader set the new lap record with a time of 1'31''095 and was 87 thousandths ahead of his teammate Kimi Räikkönen.

The Mercedes are dropped. Valtteri Bottas is in third place more than half a second ahead of his teammate by a handful of thousandths Lewis Hamilton who didn't even finish his second attempt.

The Red Bull point in the third line with Max Verstappen seven tenths ahead of his teammate Daniel Ricciardo the Renault will start in the Top 10, Nico Hulkenberg et Carlos Sainz Jr being separated by Sergio Pérez (Force India) and Romain Grosjean (Haas).
