Mercedes is the first team to reveal the first sounds of its 2023 car, the Mercedes W14. A symbolic first lighting, which has become a tradition on social networks.

VIDEO – The first start of the Mercedes W14

During the off-season that we are currently experiencing, there are several symbolic stages for each team of Formula 1 : the passage to crash tests, the date of presentation of the future car, but also the first factory engine ignition. It is this last step that Mercedes proudly posted on social networks on Thursday, with the first purrs of the German engine in the W14, which will be the weapon of the Silver Arrows in 2023.

A symbolic step which has become a ritual for F1 teams during the winter, to keep fans patient and to generate enthusiasm. As usual, apart from the melody of the V6 turbo hybrid straight out of Brixworth (United Kingdom), little is visible in the video published by Mercedes. The mystery is maintained concerning the W14, which only allows us a glimpse of the exhaust from the engine block, under the careful gaze of Brackley engineers. 

Mercedes has not yet communicated on the presentation date of its Formula 1 for the 2023 season.
