After disastrous qualifying which saw him hit the rail in Q1, Vitaly Petrov made up for it in the race. Around a solid race, the Renault resident F1 Team enters the Top 10 for the third time this season.

?Scoring points was my goal today and I am satisfied to finish 9th, declares the Russian. I got off to a good start, then I attacked hard and started to move up in the peloton. The race went well but the conditions were difficult and the choice of tires was difficult. The team made the right decisions and I stayed on slicks for a long time, managing to get the most out of them. After my mistake in qualifying yesterday, I showed that we had the pace to deserve the top 10. I hope to qualify much better next time, which will allow me not to have to overtake as many cars! We had the f-duct this weekend, which gave us a performance gain in a straight line and allowed me to fight against Rosberg. It’s promising for the next races.”
