Martin Whitmarsh, reassured about the potential of his car 2010, approaches this Australian weekend with optimism:
“With the second round arriving only 15 days after Bahrain, there was not enough time to evolve the P4-25, declares the boss of McLaren. But we do have some new elements. Our start to the season has been encouraging. Our performance in Bahrain was interesting, we had the car for the second part of the race and I think we now have a clearer idea of what settings to adopt on a Grand Prix weekend. Obviously we know the opposition will be very strong, and we are expecting a fantastic battle in Melbourne this weekend. The organizers of the Australian GP have put together a fantastic meeting. A meeting that I always look forward to with great enthusiasm. I hope we will be able to produce a grandiose show. »
An opinion certainly shared by all those who followed the first Grand Prix of the season.
