Les 24 Heures de Spa 2021 ont débuté par diverses émotions. La crainte tout d’abord après avoir appris le carambolage en haut du Raidillon de Kevin Estre (Porsche), Franck Perera (Lamborghini), Davide Rigon (Ferrari) and Jack Aitken (Lamborghini). The last two cited were taken to hospital for additional examinations without their lives being in danger.
This was followed by 1h45 of neutralization in order to clear the four wrecks. The Ardennes did their part and reserved one of the downpours that the Spadois know well, just at the moment when the Race Direction released the wild animals. Nico Müller (Audi) undoubtedly saw his life unfold during this red alert:

The Swiss driver quickly recovered and continued to attack to take the lead of the race. He is ahead of Ben Barnicoat (McLaren) and pole sitter Raffaele Marciello (Mercedes).
