Already in the lead during the first session this morning, Mirko Bortolotti dominated the second running session of the 3 Hours of Imola, the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe. The new Team WRT recruit set the best time in 1.42.497 in his No. 8 Audi R3 LMS GT31 Evo. The former Lamborghini spearhead was less than a tenth ahead of the  Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Luca Stolz (HRT) and the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo of Frederik Schandorff (Barwell motorsport), which races in the silver category.

Note the fifth place of the Lexus RC F GT3 n°15 – Tech1 Racing of Neubauer – Panis – Buret in 1.42.864 and two hundredths behind, the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo from Tempesta Racing, led by Froggatt – Cheever – Hui dominated the Pro – Am class.

The session, not considered free practice, was interrupted twice by a red flag due to minor off-track excursions. The teams had to play with a changing track, very wet at the start of the session then drying out.

The first free practice session will take place on Saturday morning from nine o'clock.

Ranking session 2.
