Spain – Qualifications: Magnus frustrates Berthon

Audi confirms its strong comeback in Spain with the pole position of Gilles Magnus. On the Motorland Aragon circuit, the three French people on the grid coveted this position. But in the flying lap exercise, it was the Belgian who achieved the best time in 2'05″485. Nathanaël Berthon held provisional pole before his teammate, already the fastest in Q1, overtook him by almost 2 tenths.

Several leaders were quickly surprised in qualifying. Nestor Girolami, second in the general classification, was eliminated in Q1 by the improvement of Daniel Nagy at the end of the session. In front of his home crowd, Mikel Azcona stopped in Q2 in 8th place. Nathanaël Berthon will therefore occupy first place on the grid for Race 1 in Spain on Sunday at 11:15 a.m.
