500! No, this is not a reference to the iconic car produced by Fiat, but to the number of victories won by the Ferrari 488 GT3 since its debut in 2016. The milestone was reached on Saturday, during Race 1 of DTM at Spielberg, won by Nick Cassidy with AF Corse. On the same day, in GT World Challenge Asia, Takeshi Kimura and Kei Cozzolino won the drivers' championship in the Japan Cup's Overall and Pro-Am categories, bringing the number of titles won by the same car to 110.

The 500 races won by the 488 GT3 at international level, both in its standard configuration and in the 2020 Evo version, places this model as the most successful Ferrari of all time. In seven seasons of competition in major national and international series, this true icon of GT racing has accumulated an impressive 110 titles. An extraordinary track record and a precious legacy which will be passed on to the new Ferrari 296 GT3, which will make its track debut during the 24 Hours of Daytona in January 2023.

“The Ferrari 488 GT3 is a car that never ceases to surprise us”

Antonello Coletta, head of Ferrari's GT sports activity, was delighted with this new record. “ The 488 GT3 is a car that never ceases to surprise us and bring us enormous satisfaction, specified the Italian director. It is a historic feat to reach 500 victories, hardly predictable when the car debuted in 2016. An incredible result, also thanks to the teams who chose it to participate in the main world series. I am delighted that this milestone coincides with our victory in DTM, a series in which we made our debut last year with AF Corse, where we had the opportunity to appreciate the competitiveness of the 488 GT3. I would also like to congratulate Takeshi Kimura and Kei Cozzolino on winning the GT World Challenge Asia title, the 110th crown for this model, another truly memorable achievement. »
