Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) wins the Daytona 500 for the second time in his 400th Sprint Cup start. The five-time champion of the discipline is ahead of his teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr, Mark Martin (Michael Waltrip Racing), reigning champion Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing) and Ryan Newman (Stewart-Haas Racing). Danica Patrick (Stewart-Haas Racing) becomes the first woman to lead at the Daytona 500 and finish in the top ten by earning eighth place behind Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway Racing) and Regan Smith (Finch Racing).
