Not renewed by Hendrick Motorsports for 2018, but retaining the support of Rick Hendrick, Kasey Kahne still hopes to drive next year in Nascar Cup Series. The American, winner this year in Indianapolis, has started discussions with different teams but admits that the opportunities will not be numerous, given the transfer market where Matt Kenseth or Kurt Busch are also available.
« I feel like the opportunities are quite small, but I've always tried to be very respectful and when I had the opportunity to go fast and win, we were able to win some races, commented Kahne on the sidelines of the Michigan event.
I always want to win, but we've had some wins and done a good job with the mechanics and our partners over the years, so I definitely think I can come up with something good and be part of something fun. »
