The starting grid for the Kentucky event in Nascar Cup Series a été déterminée par un nouveau tirage au sort, favorable cette fois à Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing – Toyota).
The reigning champion will start on the front row alongside Joey Logano (Team Penske – Ford), when Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing – Ford), the latest winner in the American series, will start on the second row with his teammate Aric Almirola.
The first Chevrolet of Alex Bowman (Hendrick Motorsports) will start in fifth position.
