Lamera Cup – Misano: Continental Racing and L’Auto Leclerc by Asphalt snatch pole positions

For the penultimate meeting of the season, the Lamera Cup heads to Italy and the Misano circuit. Two races of 5 hours and 7 hours are on the program for the weekend. The first is played this Saturday afternoon. On the grid, with 27 cars, Continental Racing starts from first position.

This Saturday morning, 2 hours and 30 minutes of free practice allowed the drivers to rediscover the Misano track, a circuit that the Lameras last raced in 2019, at the time with 18-inch Continental tires. Since 2020, 6-inch Continental SportContact 19s have been fitted to the Lamera. A tire that is still just as durable but slightly softer which offers additional grip to cars. Combined with the complete resurfacing of the Italian route carried out in March 2020, everything translates into a significant gain in times, of around four seconds in the dry.

Qualification – Race 1

Best time in free practice, Continental Racing (#40 – Elite category) continued its momentum during qualifying for Race 1. The Fargier, Maire, Coue crew took pole position after a session marked by a few off-piste events. Alongside the #40, we find on the first row the Auto Leclerc by Asphalte (Orgeval, Gruau, Casals). A first row which promises to be explosive since the two cars occupy respectively 3rd and 2nd place in the general classification before Misano. You will also have to be wary of the speed of Team Lamera (Couasnon, Wilfried, Thomas, Mattéo Merafina), 4th. Championship leader, ETC Racing 2 will start from 7th position.

In the Pro-Am category, very good performance from the Race Track Rollinger TEC crew (Rollinger, Delpit, Bruckner, Giraudi), currently 2nd in its class overall, who set the 3rd best time of the session. His direct pursuers in the Pro-Am category are 6th (Alma Racing team (Tisseau, Lebrun, Marie) and 8th (CTF Racing Stage team (Beraud, Poret, Boust).

The best performance in the Gentleman category goes to the trio Ode, Barou, Levet (West Motors by ETC), 12th on the grid. He is ahead of the teams Genius Water Racing (De Cnijf, Pevenage, Mouton) and JCL Scania (Haussberger, Depp, Provost, Bros). Leader of the class overall, the ADL Racing Team (Abric, Muller, Locatelli) finished these qualifications in 17th position, just behind its direct pursuer in the race for the Gentleman title, the trio Lurol, Czimer, Sylvestre (Ange Barde Racing by ETC).

Qualification – Race 2

The qualifying session also made it possible to define the grid for Race 2 (7 hours) scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday. Auto Leclerc by Asphalte (Elite category) will start from first place. Other representatives of the Elite category best placed on the grid, the TTM 48 teams (Di Duca, Rousseaux, Soave) and Team Lamera will start 3rd and 4th. Another very good performance from the Race Track Rollinger TEC team (Pro-Am category), which will start 2nd in race 2. You then have to move to the 4th row to find other Pro-Am crews with the CTF Racing Stage trio ( 7th) and

Alma Racing (8th). The trio Les Viking by Asphalte (Marie, Durand, Harang) ranks 10th and best Gentleman crew. He is ahead of the Genius Water Racing crews (12th) and Triangle Suisse (15th).
