American series officials have confirmed that a limit on the number of races possible in the Xfinity and Truck Series for drivers with five or more years of full-time Sprint Cup Series experience will be introduced in 2017.

These drivers will therefore not be able to compete in more than 10 races in Xfinity and seven in Truck starting next season. They will also be prohibited from participating in the last eight races of the year, and the Dash 4 Cash rounds in the Xfinity Series.

Furthermore, any driver who scored points in the Sprint Cup will not be able to take part in the Miami-Homestead final in the two lower divisions. An entry in the Xfinity Series and Truck Series for the championship will remain possible, if the driver is registered to score points in the championship.
