It was understood that the race reserved for GT3s on the sidelines of the 2022 Macau Grand Prix would be dominated by drivers from Europe. This was the case, since the pole sitter Maro Engel (Mercedes) narrowly won ahead of Edoardo Mortara (Audi) this Sunday, November 20.
The German initially had to defend his position against his Craft-Bamboo Racing teammate, Raffaele Marciello, who took the lead at the second corner. But the Italian braked too late on the second lap before negotiating the tightest hairpin on the circuit and had to let the peloton pass before returning to the road, dead last.

« We have come close to winning several times over the past few years, but have never succeeded, said Maro Engel, now three-time winner of the Macau GT Cup. To do it with Craft-Bamboo Racing, which is based in Hong Kong, is incredible.
It's still a difficult time right now and I want to thank everyone who isn't here but has helped us remotely. Whether at the engineering level at Craft-Bamboo or at Mercedes AMG in Affalterbach. A big thank you to them. They worked crazy hours (due to time difference. Editor’s note) to participate in the debriefings and help us this weekend. »
Le Francophone Alexandre Imperatori (Porsche) complète le podium. Raffaele Marciello termine 12e et avant-dernier.
