Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing) was the fastest at the end of the two free practice sessions held at Loudon after qualifying where Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) will start from pole. The latter was closest to his teammate during the last session but Brad Keselowski (Penske Racing) made a remarkable arrival in third position. Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing) and Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports) complete the top five a tenth behind.
