Nascar: Hornish, Nationwide goal

The loss of its sponsor and the reduction of its commitment in Nascar Sprint Cup in 2011 will undoubtedly have been beneficial to Sam Hornish Jr. With a calendar of only 13 Nationwide races, he had time to observe and understand what could make him a better “stock car” driver. This led him to his first victory in the second division, in Phoenix (Arizona), last November, while each of his outings regularly saw him finish in the top 10 of the races.
