The Michael Waltrip Racing team and its driver Clint Bowyer were heavily sanctioned after the Chicagoland (Illinois) event for infractions during Friday inspections. The appeal of the decision will not have been favorable to the duo since the committee confirms the penalty of 25 points in the championship for the driver and 25 units in the owner's classification for Rob Kaufmann.
Billy W. Scott, Clint Bowyer's crew chief, will be fined $75 and suspended for three races, with a six-month probation period.
