While his No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet SS was checked with a rear axle that was too low at the end of the Talladega race in Alabama, Ryan Newman can breathe. The officials of the NASCAR ultimately indicated that racing damage was the cause of this non-compliance and the Chevy ultimately passed inspection. Newman is qualified for the Eliminator Round which begins this weekend in Martinsville, Virginia.
