Tony Stewart underwent further surgery on his right leg following his accident on August 5, 2013 at Iowa Speedway during a sprint car race. This accident forced him to withdraw from the rest of the season and it was with difficulty that the three-time Sprint Cup champion got back behind the wheel this year. This routine operation had been planned for a long time by doctors.
