La Nascar has decided to modify its Sprint Cup qualifying system for 2013 by abandoning the top 35 rule and returning to the old system in force until 2005. Qualifying will now be established on a 36-6-1 scheme where the The first 36 cars on the timesheet will qualify. The following six cars will be selected based on their Owner classification. The last place will be awarded to the last driver who won the title. The last position will be awarded to a seventh car based on the Owner classification if no champion is found that far back on the grid.
