The No. 8 Saintéloc Racing Audi R25 LMS dominated the free practice session for the GT World Challenge Europe final at Paul Ricard. Christopher Haase, Dorian Boccolacci and Markus Winkelhock achieved a time of 1'54"487 and beat the Mercedes-AMG HRT n°4 in the hands of Luca Stolz, Maro Engel and Vincent Abril by two tenths.

The No. 31 Audi WRT of Kelvin Van der Linde, Rolf Ineichen and Mirko Bortolotti is further back in 10th place, two positions ahead of the Ferrari 488 n°51 by Alessandro Pier Guidi, Tom Blomqvist and Côme Ledogar. The Dinamic Motorsport Porsche, championship leader, only achieved the 20th fastest time with Matteo Cairoli, Christian Engelhart and Sven Müller.

In Pro-Am, the best time went to the No. 77 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan driven by Leo Machitski, Rob Collard  and Sandy Mitchell, sixth overall. In Silver, the Tech 1 Racing Lexus RCF driven by Thomas Neubauer, Timothé Buret and Aurélien Panis took the lead in the category.

The session started on a wet track which quickly dried on the trajectory. Outside, the always tricky tarmac led to several exits. The No. 3 K-Pax Racing Bentley Continental of Rodrigo Baptista, Maxime Soulet and Jules Gounon began to catch fire. She was able to leave at the end of the session for a single verification lap.
